Enigma2 is a frame buffer based zapping application (GUI) that is mainly aimed at satellite receivers (set-top boxes) running theoperating system Linux (OpenEmbedded based on built-in software distrobutions). The software was originally developed by Dream Multimedia for their Dreambox series. The frontend code is based on the Python Script language with a PVR backend software for tuning and recording written in C++ programming language.
