TVRO satellite + IPTV distribution

Live television is received through the vessel TVRO antenna, processed by the central TV / IPTV headend and distributed over the onboard Ethernet network to cabins and public spaces.

Every vessel has a different TV infrastructure.

Satcenter surveys the existing TVRO, coax and IP network before designing the final solution.

From survey to commissioning

How Satcenter designs your onboard TV system

The configurator shows the main building blocks. The final design always starts from what is already installed on the vessel: the TVRO antenna, the coax cabling, the network switches and the televisions in each cabin.

1. Survey of the existing installation

Our engineers check the antenna, multiswitches, amplifiers, coax runs and the onboard network. This shows which parts can be reused and where IPTV adds the most value.

2. Choosing the TV source

A marine TVRO antenna delivers live satellite TV without using internet data. IP television over Starlink, OneWeb or VSAT adds channels from outside the satellite footprint. Many vessels combine both in one headend.

3. Headend and distribution

The central TV / IPTV headend receives and prepares the channels. They then reach every screen as IPTV over the Ethernet network, as DVB-C or DVB-T over the existing coax network, or through both during a phased upgrade. For passenger vessels and accommodation units, see our hospitality IPTV solutions.

4. Installation, commissioning and support

Satcenter installs and commissions the system, tests every outlet and hands over clear documentation to the crew. After delivery, our 24/7 maritime support team helps remotely or sends an engineer to the next port. Video on demand, digital signage and ship information channels can be added as part of the wider maritime entertainment system.
