A maritime connectivity installation was successfully completed in Algeciras, involving the deployment and integration of a multi-orbit satellite communication system combining LEO and GEO technologies.
The objective of the project was to deliver high-availability internet connectivity onboard by combining OneWeb, Starlink and KNS Ku-band VSAT, alongside a fully managed onboard IT network infrastructure.
The delivered solution consisted of the following components:
This hybrid setup ensures maximum uptime by combining low latency LEO connectivity with reliable GEO fallback.
The onboard network was designed with a multi-layer redundancy architecture, enabling seamless failover between different satellite systems:
The firewall system dynamically manages traffic routing, ensuring:
This architecture guarantees continuous connectivity even in challenging maritime conditions.
The installed connectivity system provides:
The solution ensures business-critical connectivity and improved crew welfare onboard.
This type of maritime connectivity installation is suitable for:
As part of this marine installation, the following activities were performed:
All work was executed according to marine installation standards and best practices.
